Worldwide, chickpea is the fourth largest grain legume crop, predominantly grown in Asia. CGIAR’s and NARS genebanks maintain large collections of chickpea germplasm. A composite collection of 3000 accessions profiled to form this reference collection of 300 accessions which captures 78% of composite collection alleles. The reference set represents a critical resource for plant scientists to study new adaptive traits, discover new favorable alleles and also new parental lines for pre-breeding crosses.
