Genotypic Information

A composite collection of 3000 accessions was developed and profiled using 50 SSRs and high throughput assays.  A total of 1741 alleles were detected in the composite collection, of which 968 were rare and 773 common alleles.  A complete data set of 49 SSRs on 2915 accessions was used to dissect the structure and diversity in the composite collection and form this reference set of 300 accessions which captures 1315 (78%) of the 1683 composite collection alleles.

The SSR markers used to genotype the composite genebank collection from which the reference collection is derived are available. The reference kit results from the formation of the Chickpea Reference Set and is composed of 35 SSRs with a sequence list and protocol, germplasm checks, and allele sizes of markers for those checks.  The detailed list is accessible online from ICRISAT.
