Choice of crossing parents

This is perhaps the critical decision made in any breeding programme.

It is heavily dependent on your breeding goals.

It's generally unwise to "put all your eggs into one basket".

 

 

There's an old saying: "cross the best with the best, and hope for the best".

It's not as simple as that .... but the first part of the saying is not so unreasonable.
