The 2nd Conference on Cereal Biotechnology and Breeding (CBB2) will be held at the Danubius Resort in Budapest, Hungary, from the 5th to the 7th of November 2013.

Conference Topics

The conference will consider a variety of key topics, including biotic diseases of conventional- and pseudo-cereals, the  effect of abiotic stresses in cereals, the physiology of cereals, cereal quality and its molecular basis, marker-assisted selection in cereals, cereal  breeding via traditional and modern methods, and new cereal varieties.

A variety of distinguished speakers will make presentations: Hermann Bürstmayr on Improving Fusarium Resistance in Bread- and Durum Wheat; Ákos Mesterházy on Breeding strategies and breeding results against Fusarium head blight in bread wheat; Abraham Blum of on Gene discovery towards drought resistance - a quest for realism; Gábor V. Horváth, on How model organisms help to improve cereal stress resistance;Jianhua Zhang, on Water stress and its regulation on the grain filling of rice; Imre Vass, on Plant phenotyping as a tool in cereal breeding; Ravindra N. Chibbar, on Genomic strategies to improve grain quality for diversification of cereal crops utilization; Zoltán Bed?, on Impact of classical methods and new breeding technologies in wheat improvement.
