Call for proposals: Doctoral regional research grants trageting barley, finger millet, pearl millet and sorghum

The CGIAR Research Program on Dryland Cereals (Dryland Cereals) announces the following Call for Doctoral Research Grants that are being sponsored and supported by their Dryland Cereals Scholarship Program. This programme is designed to increase capacity for research on barley, finger millet, pearl millet and sorghum.

The grants are aimed at applicants registered in RUFORUM Regional PhD Programmes for a Doctoral Regional Research Grant to support their doctoral research for a maximum of US$15,000 over a period of two years. The grants will not cover tuition fees or stipend for the students. They are meant to provide funds for student research, support supervision, produce the thesis and related publications, as well as report back to the communities they worked with.

The application deadline is 30th March 2015. Results of the selection process will be advised by 15th April 2015, and all grants will be disbursed by 30th April 2015. 

The grantees will be expected to work closely with ICARDA and ICRISAT scientists, and the grant implementation process will be monitored and overseen by the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM).

Grants awarded will be published in the RUFORUM News and posted in the RUFORUM website
