Fellowships

The Food Security Center (FSC) at the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany is to award up to 20 scholarships in 2013 for postdoctoral researchers and PhD students for a period of 4 to 6 months (call for applications). The Center wishes to attract outstanding PhD students and postdoctoral fellows pursuing a career in academia or development collaboration.

The scholarships are awarded in four categories:

The application deadline for all scholarship categories is September 29, 2012. Selection is carried out on a competitive basis and the decision will be communicated by December 22, 2012.

PhD Programme on Global Food Security

The Food Security Center also invites applications for the PhD Program "Global Food Security" at the University of Hohenheim (call for applications). The PhD program will start in September 2013 and will last for 37 months, to September 2016. The program aims at increasing the students' scientific knowledge and skills relevant to food security related issues. There are no scholarships available from the university for this programme and applicants are required to make their own funding arrangements – proof of which will be required prior to admission. Applicants may independently seek support from these potential funders. The application deadline for this programme is September 29, 2012 and successful applicants will be contacted no later than January 26, 2013
