Vacancy Announcement: IBWS Scientific Manager

Since July 2009, GCP has been coordinating the development of the Integrated Breeding Platform (IBP), a one-stop shop providing access to modern tools applications, and services for integrated crop breeding with a focus on breeders in developing countries. This initiative is being undertaken in collaboration with a broad range of partners from CGIAR Centres, Universities and country-based programmes.

Moving now to a phase of implementation, we are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual with a wide range of skills and experience in modern plant breeding, including the use of analytical tools and molecular markers for the position of IBWS Scientific Manager. The incumbent will be responsible primarily for testing the tools of the IBWS and pro-actively working with users to implement the system in their breeding programs and ensure the tools fit their needs. The IBWS Scientific Manager will also contribute to the population of a marker trait association DB with relevant breeding information and be involved in capacity building and support for users of the IBWS.
